ELVIS Sliders perfect for a late-night snack (or anytime!)
This post is written in partnership with Warner Brothers Pictures for promotional purposes of the new ELVIS movie. All opinions are my own. As always, I only share products and experiences I love to inspire you to go celebrate life with family and friends and #MakeSomedayHappen one delicious bite, sip, and trip at a time.
Are you excited to see the new ELVIS movie? To celebrate the movie’s release this summer, Warner Bros. Studios asked me to share my version of Elvis’ favorite sandwich and sent me some fun swag. Of course, I said, “Thank you, thank you very much!” in my best Elvis southern drawl.
Elvis was known for his crazy food cravings, especially late-night after a show. None more iconic than the peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich. I gave my version a little twist. Making it as a slider on King’s Hawaiian Butter Rolls instead of white bread. An homage to the King of Rock & Roll and my favorite Elvis Hawaii movies. That bread takes any sandwich to the next level! I also caramelize the bananas in bourbon honey, butter, and a bit of bacon fat. Decadent but oh so good! I think Elvis would approve.

The combination of peanut butter, bananas, and bacon is often associated with Elvis Presley. Not only do you find the classic PB&B&B sandwich all across the United States, it’s likely the unofficial sandwich of Memphis. You can also find that flavor combo in ice cream sundaes, doughnuts, and outrageous burger creations.
It is believed Elvis’ mom and later his cook at Graceland used bacon fat to fry the sandwich. This is definitely a step you don’t want to skip.
The Good, the Bad, and the Yummy describes the classic Elvis sandwich as consisting of peanut butter, half a banana and a piece of bacon per sandwich. The best way to make it is to brown the sandwiches in a frying pan, cut them into wedges, and pile them high.
I made my Elvis Sandwich as sliders with Hawaiian butter rolls for extra yumminess. Those rolls are so soft and buttery, there’s no need to cut into wedges, but you can definitely pile them high!
What is the new Elvis Movie about?
ELVIS is an epic, big-screen spectacle from Warner Bros. Pictures and visionary, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. It explores the life and music of Elvis Presley, starring Austin Butler as Elvis and Oscar winner Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker. The movie will be released in theaters on June 24th.
A thoroughly cinematic drama, Elvis’ story is seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker. As told by Parker, the film delves into the complex dynamic between the two spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (portrayed by Olivia DeJonge).
I’ve been a big Elvis fan since I was a teenager and loved all things 1950’s which is why I can’t wait to see the new ELVIS movie. Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie Presley have both given their stamp of approval. Lisa Marie said she loves this film and it’s the first movie to portray her father correctly and “do it right.” That’s high praise when you consider the countless movies made about Elvis! Plus Baz Luhrmann knows how to put on a show! (Have you seen Moulin Rouge?) Tom Hanks is always fascinating to watch. He is almost unrecognizable but I can still hear a bit of Forrest Gump in his voice. And, Austin Butler looks absolutely dreamy! He captures Elvis swagger so well.
