A blogging challenge of delicious proportions sharing “Must Eat Foods” from around the world
What are “Must Eat Foods”?
You know those dishes, cocktails, wines and all around awesome dining experiences that you just can’t stop thinking about, or talking about, for weeks, months or even years afterwards?
They are the ones avid food lovers, like me, fill your Instagram and Facebook feeds with?
Here are some great examples of Must Eat Foods:
I was dreaming of this beautiful dish from Eddie V’s for days. It was magical, and not just because I devoured it during Orlando’s Magical Dining Month. It would have been a perfect “A” topic post called “A is for Ahi Tuna Tartare” but I already shared this incredible dining experience in this post. What do you think? Drool worthy?
How about this creative take on a Cronut by Peterbrooke Chocolatier in Winter Park called a Broissant? It is still being talked about months later. My foodie friend @metaldon and I have actually been stalking the awesome folks of @PeterbrookeWP on Instagram in our mad campaign to bring back the Broissant since it was only available a limited time. I’m happy to report there is hope for us. We may even get a chance to take part in taste testing new flavors! Oh, that would be a GO Epicurista dream for sure! I wrote all about these chocolate gooey messy masterpieces in this post. I called it a Must Eat Treat then but I could have also called it “B is for Broissant”!
Are you drooling by now? I am.
How about this lovely example of decadence firmly planted in the Must Eat Foods category? The fairy tale inspired cupcake from Blue Bird Bakery in Winter Park was especially created for my Cinderella, Bubbles and Cupcakes party and it has a special place in my heart. I would have called it “C is for Cupcakes and Cinderella” check it out and tell me what you think. Does it qualify as Must Eat Foods for you?
I think you get the picture, right?
I call these “Must Eat Foods” or Must Eat Dining Experiences and I’ve been lucky to have quite a few of them over the years, especially in the past year since embarking on my GO Epicurista mission to #MakeSomedayHappen one delicious bite, sip and trip at a time.
I’ve had the opportunity to explore my own back yard of Orlando and the Central Florida area, discovering new restaurants as well as foodie favorites. The above pictures are only from around Central Florida. I have so many more examples from around the world!
I have visited some of my favorite cities in the United States – New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, and Miami – not a coincidence that they are all foodie cities, by the way.
My passport has been stamped a few times as well with amazing overseas trips to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Singapore, London and Berlin. The dining scene in those cities does not disappoint. On the contrary, it is quite fantastic!
The A to Z Challenge
I have so many great Must Eat Foods I want to share with you as my hope is they will inspire you to GO celebrate and make your own “someday” happen. When I came across a blogging challenge called A-to-ZChallenge.com thanks to The Traveling Praters blog, it inspired me. The challenge is for bloggers to write blog posts corresponding to a topic themed to each letter of the alphabet, starting with A and so on. It could be about any topic.
My topic is Food and Travel, of course!
I was not able to join in on their challenge as it had already closed so I’ve decided to do it on my own. I will post as often as my fingers can type each week. Some posts may be long and others short, but one thing I can assure you is, they will be a fun recap of my favorite Must Eat Foods from around the world, from A to Z.
I believe you can travel through food. Join me on this journey and travel to these amazing destinations with me. And who knows, hopefully it will inspire you to take that trip and GO taste for yourself.
If you’re inspired, I would love to learn about your Must Eat Foods, so please share in the comments below or on social media.

A Cronut has been on my list of foods to try since I first heard of them. Oh yum. And your photos are making me hungry.
I’m so excited you decided to join the challenge and look forward to reading your posts. I thought x, y, and z would be hard too. And then I got to I and j!
A have not checked off the original cronut in NYC from my “someday list” yet but it’s been fun finding alternatives like the Broissant! A-Z is going to be a fun challenge. Thanks for following along and for providing the inspiration. I never knew there was so much great stuff to see in Ohio until I read your posts. Ohio is now on my Someday List! Cheers!
