Easy Refreshing Cocktail Perfect For Spring and Summer Celebrations

“Remember that happiness is a way of travel, it’s not a destination.”
– Cecelia Ahern
We are unfortunately not traveling. We are barely leaving the house as we follow necessary precautions and stay home during this pandemic. So it’s the simple things that are bringing the most joy right now. For example, sipping this refreshing Rose Moscato Citrus Spritzer by the pool because it’s #NationalMoscatoDay (as if we needed an excuse!)

The simple things like listening to a spa music radio station I discovered on My Tuner Radio app. Watching the ducks that have taken over my pool. Swimming around like they were at The Peabody Hotel. Chatting with my college sorority sisters on zoom, laughing at our gray hair and sharing beauty anti-aging tips and other must do’s while staying home.
Breathing in and out.

Feeling grateful for this forced (and necessary) time out which has allowed us to stop and chill at home. Things are slowly opening back up (hair salons are opening soon!) but you won’t see me rushing to get “back to normal”.
I’m hoping if something good can come out of all this, it is for our new normal to involve more of this. More time laughing and sharing with family and friends, even if it’s on zoom. I hope for more time to try new cocktails and recipes at home. And ultimately more time to appreciate the little things in life.
How To Make a Rose Moscato Citrus Spritzer?
A spritzer is a tall chilled cocktail usually made with white wine topped with soda water or other carbonated beverage. It’s perfect to enjoy in warm weather gatherings.
In this recipe you can use your favorite rose or moscato wine and citrus carbonated beverage. I used the CK Mondavi & Family limited release Spritzed Rose Moscato as it is slightly sweeter than a typical rose. The berry notes and the color make it even prettier. I must disclose I’m a CK Mondavi Ambassador, however, this is not a sponsored post. I enjoy their easy drinking, great quality wines at home quite often. You can’t beat a wine that pairs well with food and to sip on its own. Plus it’s only $6.99 so it won’t break the bank as we tighten our belts! Learn more about the wine and how I used it in an epic dessert here.
For the carbonated beverage, I used Q Mixers Grapefruit soda. It has the right tart notes and fresh flavor of grapefruit to contrast the sweeter wine. You can use any citrus flavored soda water you prefer. Also play around with the quantity depending on how sweet your wine is.
I added gin to this spritzer because it offers and extra layer of flavor and aromas. Bombay Sapphire is a classic in our house. Feel free to experiment with floral gins. The aromatics add to this simple yet refreshing cocktail.

Have a Party!
This Rose Moscato Citrus Spritzer is perfect for a casual pool party or BBQ yet elegant enough for a birthday, bridal shower or baby shower. You can even host your own epic Afternoon Tea Party with this guide.
